Healthy Olive Oils as part of a healthy diet
A lot of people have turned to their kitchen in their free time during COVID-19 pandemic. If you are one of those people, your first question would have been which oil to use for cooking.Personally, I believe that the benefits provided by our Tastefully Olive extra virgin olive oils (EVOO) is best for cooking. Although, I have noticed that people in the United States, usually, don’t consider EVOO for cooking. I seriously doubt it! Traditionally EVOOs has been an important part of the Mediterranean diet. It is delicious, healthy and can be used with any vegetables. On top of all that, it is rich in antioxidants
Early Harvest Olive Oils can be used in high heat cooking
It is generally believed that cooking with EVOO on high heat is not good for health benefits as it releases toxic gases. Some people try to limit their olive oil usage for seasoning only, or at low heat at best. On the other hand, alternatives like Canola oil are safe in this regard. Although this myth has recently been debunked in a 2018 study by an Australian group. They found that Olive oil performed better than most in terms of its stability on high heat. The antioxidants present in the oil helps it in coping with the high heat. This study has been published in Acta Scientific Nutritional Health Journal.
Today Olive oil is considered best to cook even in the high heat. Something that Greeks have been practicing all along. And the state of general health benefits among their population is the living proof of this fact.
In conclusion,
if you are looking for the best oil to cook with – there is nothing better than extra virgin olive oil (EVOO). Apart from the great taste it imparts on the dish, it also protects against inflammation, heart disease, and high blood pressure.
